The Autonomist Precepts: A Theory of Democratic Government, is expected to be finished within the next year. The author, Christopher T. Widholm, is a public interest lawyer and activist who has worked for governmental or non-profit organizations exclusively since graduating from law school 13 years ago. He has represented children or indigent adults in thousands of cases, never accepting a private fee.

He received a B.A. in Political Science from George Washington University, an M.A. in International Economics from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky, and a J.D. from the State of University of New York at Buffalo. He currently lives and works in the suburbs of New York City.

As a systematic theory of government, Contractual Autonomism bears no relation to other movements or adaptations that go by the same name. For instance, do not confuse this theory with those factions that start from Socialist or anarchist premises. Although many of these movements are progressive and well intentioned, they will never solve such theoretical problems using the same logic that created them. Nor should this theory be associated with those "Autonomists" who absurdly consider Ayn Rand's "Objectivism" to be insightful.
